As with every New Year, it’s fun to make a list of resolutions or of new things you want to try. Diets and gym memberships are always good options, but maybe your list includes items that are outside your comfort zone-something you’ve never even thought to try. We put together a Park City-oriented list for you to consider as you think about what you want your 2025 to include! We've included some of our favorite hits: biking and skiing, hiking, and more. But we wanted to highlight some easy ways to help your community and keep your local environment clean while reducing stress and getting outside!

Take a Ski or Snowboard Lesson

Back to Top of List

Maybe you have always wanted to learn how to carve, or you want to feel more comfortable off-piste and on steeper terrain—even the best of skiers and riders can brush up on their skills from time-to-time. Sign up for a ski or snowboard lesson at Park City Mountain. Park City Mountain also offers “never ever” snowboard lessons, and ski and snowboard lessons geared specifically towards women.

Break the mold—try something new in 2025!

Opt Out of the Car

Back to Top of List

Walk, ride your bike, take the bus, hop on the trolley, get a train ticket, rollerblade, skate board, ski, shred, rip—it doesn't matter. By getting out of the car, you're saving gas money, reducing congestion, and getting a bit of fresh air all at the same time. We're lucky to have a robust free transit network in Park City, and a bike share with stations all over town. Regardless if you're here or not, taking alternative transportation is a great way to kick off the new year!

Bike. Bus. Boots. Opt out of the car in 2025!

Go Cat-Skiing or Heli-Skiing

Back to Top of List

Skip the lift and step out of your comfort zone—cat and heli skiing should be on your list for 2024. This is your year to ski untracked powder in backcountry terrain with Park City Powder Cats or Powderbird. With steep, ungroomed terrain, Park City Powder Cats requires guests to be, at least, advanced-intermediate skiers. Experienced, certified guides, prepared meals, and repeat runs on untouched snow make a day at Thousand Peaks Ranch an experience of a lifetime. “Steep Lines. Big Bowls. Untracked Powder.” – you know you want to!

Try a New Sport

Back to Top of List

Park City, Utah is a mecca for all types of physical activities. Ring in the new year by trying a new activity for the first time. Take in the scenery by fat bike, or test your stamina while Nordic skiing. Take a standup paddleboard yoga class in a geothermic crater, or find inspiration from our First Timers video series.  There are so many active ways to explore the Park City area!

Use a Refillable Water Bottle

Back to Top of List

Some of us need an easy new year's resolution. And throwing a refillable water bottle in your bag is one of the simplest ways to save a little trash from the landfill and kick off the new year with a better habit. Refilling a water bottle costs pennies on the dollar compared to buying a bottle and you'll be compelled to drink more, keeping you fresh and hydrated all day long!

Grab a bottle and fill 'er up!

Ride the Bobsled at Utah Olympic Park

Back to Top of List

Experience a thrill of a lifetime in a bobsled on the Salt Lake 2002 (and future 2034) Olympic Winter Games Sliding Track at Utah Olympic Park. The Track was home to bobsled, skeleton, and luge events during the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Winter Games. One of UOP's professional pilots takes three passengers on a thrilling ride down the 2002 Olympic track. The Winter Bobsled Experience is highly physical and extreme, generating up to 4-5 times the force of gravity. It’s an Olympic experience not to be missed!

Dig Into Park City's History

Back to Top of List

While being more physically active is always a practical New Year’s resolution, exercising your brain is also important! Increase your knowledge of your favorite mining-turned-ski-town by touring the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street, visiting the Alf Engen Ski Museum at Utah Olympic Park.

Treat Yourself to Wellness

Back to Top of List

Self-care has always been important but is valued (and on-trend) now more than ever. What better way to take care of yourself than by experiencing a day of relaxation and indulging in one of the Park City area’s unique spa treatments. From the Vichy shower at the Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge to an herbal soak in Spa Montage’s copper tubs, the area’s spa offerings are refined and luxurious and will leave you feeling like a new person in 2018.

Yoga is a great way to unfold in 2025!

Take an Action Sports Lesson at Woodward Park City

Back to Top of List

Woodward Park City is a world-class, year-round action sports destination in one of the greatest outdoor regions in the world. With drop-in sessions, all-access tickets, day sessions, lift tickets, lessons, summer day camps, monthly memberships, and special events there is always a way to play for kids and kids at heart.

Try Ski Touring

Back to Top of List

When people hear other skiers talk about touring, they're imagining a long day in the backcountry navigating intimidating terrain. But Park City Mountain has an uphill policy—which means you can tour on select ski runs when the resort isn't normally operating. And with rental gear from a local ski shop like White Pine Touring, you can get acquainted with the equipment before learning more about the sport!

This Year is All About You

This is your time! Make it count in 2025 by stepping out of your comfort zone, dropping a new steep, or trying something out of your routine.
